Long Time, No See
Soooo, it’s been awhile… Almost 4 years, to be exact. I don’t want to blame the pizza scissors from my last post but it was definitely a “jump the shark” moment for me and I decided I needed a break. Did I expect it to take 4 years to dust this thing off? No, but as it turns out, life gets even busier as your kids get older. Who knew??
I’m not even sure where to begin as far as life updates go. When I stopped writing 4 years ago, I had a young gymnast with Olympic dreams, an innocent young boy who was getting ready to take on high school, a medium sized dad bod and no dog… Now? These days I have a former gymnast, turned diver, who is fielding calls from NCAA schools; a much taller boy who has a job, drives a car, and has submitted University applications for next year; Oh, and yes, after years of saying no, I finally caved. His name is Archie and he drives my crazy.
I think I’ll leave it there for now. I mean, how can I top a picture of a puppy? And yes, I realize I didn’t elaborate on the medium sized dad bod. Let’s just say, it’s a work in progress and that all good things take time… I’m hoping to be adding a lot more posts on this page in the weeks to come, and I hope you’ll stop by from time to time!
Hey, man! Welcome back. I’ve been debating what I want my online presence to be in the age of enshittification and platforms, and seeing you return to this blog is giving me some food for thought. Enjoy the comeback.
I’m not a fan of this post. We wait for an update for 4 years and this is all you give us??? Myself and some friends who are/used to be huge fans of this blog came to the conclusion that you might have passed away! We had to cancel our weekly candaiandadblog meeting sessions because you randomly left us in the dust. As someone who thought of you as a blogger who cares for his fans, I feel as though I was incorrect. That being said, we are getting our meetings back up and running and are looking forward to seeing how your life has been. I’m a tad disappointed in the detail in this post, I’d love to know things like where is your son going to university, what schools are reaching out to your daughter, when you say “medium dad bod” how much are we talking? (I have a pretty medium-large dad bod myself). Anyways, I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the future.
