Project #DadFit – Week 5: A P90X3 For Me, A P90X3 For You!

This has been an interesting week. I was flying high after running the Army Run 5K last weekend and was looking forward to carrying that forward into this week’s workouts. As fate would have it, I came down with something and was unable to do too much exercising. I still managed to skate with my son’s hockey team and squeeze in a visit to the gym but overall I was pretty laid out with the sickness and didn’t eat well at all because of it.

That said, I still feel motivated and hope to get back on track starting today! Before the sickness last week, I had been trying out the new P90X3 program from Beachbody Canada. I had tried the original P90X program last year but found it way too difficult for someone with my build and lack of flexibility and endurance. The P90X3 program is much easier for me and at only 30 minutes each, the disks are more than manageable. That’s not to say I don’t struggle at times but I have been going at my own pace and have really enjoyed the results so far.

After talking to the people at Beachbody Canada, they have agreed to let me give away one of their P90X3 programs to one of you! I’m telling you, no matter what you think about your abilities, you CAN do this program. Warning: There will be times that you swear at Tony Horton during the workout, so you’ll want to make sure the kids are out of earshot. Good Luck!

Pain. It’s a vicious circle. Pain from not being active, need to get active to get rid of my pain, in too much pain most days to be active. Yep definitely a vicious circle!

Actually, nothing. I try to exercise every day. I would love this for the cold winter months ahead for when I don’t feel like braving the cold weather. Thank you for this awesome opportunity!

The one thing holding me back is purging the junk from my meals and eating right! I have 20 lbs to lose before a trip in February and P90X3 would be just what I need!!

Time. Working full time, I only really have after I get my daughter to bed, but that’s when I do everything else. Also, my husband goes to sea on rotation, so 50% of the time it’s just me and a 19 month old, so I can’t get out to exercise.

i wouldn’t say anything holds me back, i enjoy exercising. my job exhausts me, so the fact that i’m really tired is the reason that i may miss a workout

I truly need this. Weight is going up no matter what I do. MRI on the knee this Friday so hopefully back in full force soon.

I exercise everyday, but I still avoid some types of exercise that I am less motivated to do. I should do more deadlifts, but I tend to do mindless cardio more often instead.

Let’s be honest, I’m just too lazy! If I could only burn calories every time I thought about working out, it would be a perfect world 🙂

I would have to say it is the time element although I do realize you should make time to take care of yourself. I believe that taking care of yourself through exercise benefits your whole family as you just feel better.

I loved p90X and two years ago, I tried my friend’s copy of the program and lost over 25 pounds. KenPo was my absolute favourite exercise! Right now, I am working three jobs so it is super difficult to make time for the gym. I would love to have my own copy of P90X to work out to at home.

Today it was decorating, I was going to go for a run then my wife said, “I thought we could finish painting the living room tonight?” Running cap away and pain roller out…….

What’s holding me back? Mostly time. I have little time to myself at home, and what I do have, I want to spend it with my wife and kids. I wish there was P90X liposuction, ab growth and permanent fat reduction programs.

The busy life of a mom that commutes to work, with kids in tow, to drop them off at school near work, picks them up, rushes home to make dinner/homework/housecleaning/after school activities….or appointments/advocating/phone calls for oldest daughter that has #SelectiveMutism….weekend activities/play dates/birthday parties. And repeat….whew! That’s almost a workout in itself!
