Celebrate The Minions Blu-ray/DVD Release In Style! {Giveaway}

As huge fans of the Despicable Me franchise, to say that my family was excited for the solo Minions movie would be a huge understatement. My kids spent weeks speaking in unintelligible Minions voices (think banana, banana) to the point where I thought I was going to have to take a course to learn a new language. Luckily this was just a phase and the kids have since returned to speaking English and the occasional French. As you can see from the pictures above, they were all in on Minions and have been anxiously awaiting their opportunity to see the movie again on Blu-ray/DVD.

Lucky for them, their wait ends on December 8th when the Minions Blu-ray and DVD hits store shelves everywhere in Canada! I want to say that I’ll be able to wait to give it to them in their Christmas stockings but we all know I’ll cave on the 8th and pop it in the first night! The Blu-ray Combo Pack and Digital HD also come with three all-new mini-movies which my kids are going to flip over. Just to get your kids a little more excited, here’s the first of the 3 mini movies included with the Combo Pack!

In case you haven’t seen Minions yet, here is a brief synopsis of the movie:

Since the dawn of time, Minions have served (and accidentally eliminated) history’s most despicable villains. After their latest explosive mistake leaves them without an evil leader, the Minions fall into a deep depression. With the tribe on the brink of collapse, three unlikely heroes–Kevin, Stuart, and Bob—embark on a journey to find a new big boss. Phineas & Ferb: Mission Marvel DVD ~ Review

Just when I thought Phineas and Ferb couldn’t get any cooler, they go and team up with the Marvel super heroes and hit it out of the park! I have to admit that there has been more than one occasion where I catch myself watching Phineas and Ferb without any kids around and this DVD will be no exception to that rule. Plus, Super Heroes!

Here’s a quick synopsis of the film:

After Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest “-inator” scheme accidentally removes the powers of some very well-known Marvel Super Heroes (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk), the heroes enter the world of Danville and team up with Phineas and Ferb to relocate their powers, defeat the Marvel Super Villains (Red Skull, MODOK, Whiplash and Venom) – who have also shown up to steal Doofenshmirtz’s power-draining technology – and save Danville from ultimate destruction!

Although I couldn’t get my kids to give an official statement on the DVD, other than that is was good, the glazed stares on two kids who can barely sit through dinner was a ringing endorsement for this one. Plus, any parent who is into super heroes will love it too! Besides, this is MY review, not theirs!

The Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel DVD is on store shelves now and also comes with an In-Packed Collectible Comic Book & exclusive Marvel poster (each DVD will be packaged at random with one of three distinct Marvel posters). I mean, come on, do you really need for me to tell you that this movie is awesome? It’s Phineans & Ferb & Perry & Doofenshmirtz & Super Heroes!!! Do the math and get the DVD!

Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph DVD/Blu-Ray Combo Hits Stores March 5th

Wreck It Ralph DVD

To say I am excited would be an understatement. When Wreck-It Ralph first came to theaters, I was first in line to take my son. Did I push a few people out of the way to get there? Maybe. What do you want from me? I was really excited to see this movie and it certainly did not disappoint! In fact, I think I even let out a slightly angered, “No!”, when Brave won the Oscar for best animated feature over Wreck-It Ralph. Love you, Merida, but Ralph was awesome!

It was the idea behind Wreck-It Ralph that drew me in. I loved the concept of the video game characters coming to life after the arcades closed down. Travelling through the power cords to Game Central Station is pure genius, and mixing old and new characters was enough to keep parents and kids excited about who they would see next. My son loves Sonic the Hedgehog and even though he is only in the movie for about 3 seconds, it’s one of his favourite moments.

Check out this clip from Wreck-It Ralph and make sure that you get out there and grab your copy of the DVD/Blu-Ray combo pack on March 5th! I promise you won’t be disappointed as this movie has a little something for everybody. There are a couple scary parts but my 2yo daughter got through it without getting upset, so I’m pretty confident in saying that it is for all ages.

The Combo Pack also includes some great behind the scenes footage and interviews, plus you get the Academy Award winning short, Paperman, which was better than a lot of full length movies that came out last year! I wanted to leave you with my family’s thoughts on Wreck-It Ralph in a 6 second Vine video! Remember, March 5th, go get it!

Hi. My name is Chris and I am addicted to Phineas & Ferb. There, I said it. Since the moment I got my first taste of this show I have been hooked. My house is littered with action figures, DVD’s, stuffed animal and even Phineas & Ferb cutlery. What can I say, I believe that this is the perfect animated show for children and adults alike.

My kids agree as well, having logged more hours on this show than any other. You know Disney is on to something when the kids select a DVD of Phineas & Ferb episodes instead of an actual movie on movie night. I was really excited to find out that Disney was releasing a new “Perry Files” DVD, not only because I love the show but also because Agent P and Dr. Doofenshmirtz have quickly become my favourites.
