HP Slate 7 Tablet ~ Giveaway

While I’m working on my review of the HP Split x2, I thought it would be fun to give something back to my amazing community of readers! I convinced the folks at HP to give me one of their new Slate 7 Tablets, so that I can turn around and give it to one of you. I have previously worked on the HP Envy x2 laptop/tablet hybrid and with the Split x2 review going well, I have no doubt that this product will be amazing as well. Here is some info about the Slate 7:

The HP Slate 7 tablet (available on HPShopping.ca for CDN$169.99) is a sleek, 7-inch diagonal touchscreen tablet that weighs just 13 ounces, making it an ideal affordable device for people on-the-go. Stay on top of your busy schedule with onboard apps and capture photo and video to share with the video webcam on the front and 3 MP camera on the back. Running on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), the Slate 7 provides access to the Google Play Store which offers a multitude of exciting apps right at your fingertips. The Slate 7 is also the industry’s first tablet to feature Beats AudioT for the best-sounding richest audio available on a tablet. Printing is a breeze with the built-in HP ePrint app that allows you to email important documents and memorable photos to any ePrint-enabled HP printer and have them waiting for you at home or the office.

    well between my parents and my kids this house needs another computer. We are grieving the death of our only tablet thus this beauty would fill the gap…..I can promise it will be well loved by mucky fingers, probably licked by the dog and my elderly father will bombard me with questions on how to run it…..

    I would try to use the HP Slate 7 Tablet mostly for school and work, but my daughter would most likely get hold of it, treat it as though it’s hers and in no time would have it full of games.

    I’d use it most for homeschooling my boys. I hear of so many awesome educational apps that others use that we just can’t access b/c we have no tablet/ipad/othersortofspecialthing. lol.

    Plus, I’d take it with me when I go places with them, so that I can feed my Facebook addiction, and check my (never have any more) emails, and also keep notes for blog post ideas! 😀 hehe.

    I’m an HP fan. We have no iAnythings at our house lol.

    I’d love a tablet especially for learning apps for the kids. As for me, I would use it to keep up with all of my social media hangouts like Facebook and Twitter.

    I would give this to DD8, as she is getting some decent computer lab time at school, and we are starting to teach her about safely searching the web for help with school assignments. This would allow her to have her own device (which we will still supervise), but it will keep her off mine and Wendy’s tablets. It’ll be something she can call her own.

    I would use this HP Slate 7 tablet to make sure that I am always connected with my family & friends. I would also use it to help me run my Scentsy business better so that I can continue to work from home and provide for my family, knowing that I am secure in my job and being able to stay at home and still make an income has always been very important to me. This tablet would help me to do all this!

    I’ve never had anything but my old laptop to help my daughter with her homework. I know that this would be an amazing aid to her. We do our best on the laptop! She’ struggles with school, and being in grade 7 now, I could use all the help I could get to be there to encourage her on, and help her in any way I can. It would also super help me with my Moderation work, as most of that is moving from online, to tablets. Keeping kids safe online is what I do!

    what would I not use it for is more the question… use it to check twitter , facebook , mail and make notes to keep me on track. I would also use the cozi app to organize my social calendar and family too !!!!!!!!!!

    I would probably use it to schedule all my children’s activities, appointments etc. It would be handy because it fits in my purse and I could have it everywhere I go!

    I so need this for travelling. I’m doing more and more of that and lugging around my heavy laptop is killing my back. This would be so handy to use in transit and once I get to my destination.     I would love to have one of these…I turned 40 this year, I find playing games on my iPhone is getting hard on the old eyes 😉 Seriously, so many things I could use this for, checking the weather on the go for our different busy family activities, or even start writing a blog. Most definitely will be used to help me keep organized !

    thank you for the contest.

    I would use the tablet for my endless trips to see my cardiologists and heart transplant doctors ( I am a heart transplant recipient). those appointments are 6 months apart, but in the mean time, I have dermatology appts checking for cancer, colonoscopy appts checking on my colitis, bone density scans, those appointments are all at different times, and since I don’t drive, I take the greyhound bus 6 hrs one way for them, and the tablet would let me watch movies, stay connected with friends and even work ( I get my appointment days off of work)

    I would love to win this.

    Well, whenever I’m on the bus, I always wish I owned a tablet so I could jot down my ideas. Sure, I use a pen and paper right now, but it’s much more convenient to transfer to my desktop after I’m home to start working on it again. Having the HP Slate could really help my creativity on the go!

    I will be truthful. I had won a TABLET and promised my daughter to give her my FIRST WIN. She walked away happy BUT then my husband said “NOT ME?”! He told me that he needed one to display all of his police patches and badges so that he could take the tablet with him and show all of his COLLECTION to his police friends.

    My husband and I moved to Newfoundland from Ontario to open a B&B. One year later and still working on it, I’d love to have an operating system for just the business. Keep my recipes organized, bookings, website, etc. This would stay in my kitchen and hopefully declutter my brain!

    We can’t splurge on a tablet these days, but having one would certainly make roadtripping (we do a lot of ’em visiting family out of province) much easier with our toddler!

    With winter coming and it getting harder to get the kids outside, this would be a kids gaming machine… there are so many kid-friendly games out there that would be great on a tablet. I’d much rather them play interactive games on the tablet then watching Cars for the 1000th time. :o)

    I hate to admit it, but GAMES! My son and I love the simple games!! Also, face-time with friends and family (we have lots of family across Canada, and don’t get to see them as much as we would like to) Also, APPS. I’ve not used apps much before and I know it would be very useful and interesting! We don’t have a tablet and would LOVE to use one!!!

    As a competitive soccer coach in charge of three youth teams plus the clubs goal keepers I have always wanted a Tablet to track individual and team stats. It helps to bring a visual perspective to the kids to show them where we need to improve. I have found an app that tracks all of this information but it is hard to navigate on an iPhone. This beautiful HP Slate 7 Tablet would be the perfect solution.

    I would use the HP tablet for a christmas present for my husband. He is currently stuck at home waiting on having surgery on his knees because the cartlidge is gone and its to painful to walk. I think it would be a great thing for him because he can sit back and read or play one of his games. I would use it for looking all my favourite recipes whenever I could sneak it away from him ;-0)

    I would use the Slate tablet in my kitchen, to view recipes and nutritional information while cooking – it would be alot better than trying to drag a desktop into the kitchen!
